Applied Magi Astrology
At a first look it can appear that Magi Astrology has commonalities with mainstream astrology, but it doesn't. Magi Astrology
is a separate body of knowledge that cannot be combined with any other system.
First of all, in Magi Astrology we don't rely on sun signs and houses, which is where mainstream astrologers spend most of
their intellectual currency. Houses require the exact time of birth, there are also several conflicting "house systems," and
their importance has been overstated.
It's the same with signs, their importance have been overstated and any planet that is colored by the energy of a sign will be
much more influenced by any planets that aspects it. This is exactly what Magi Astrology is based on, correct planetary
symbolism and planetary geometry.
The failure of Sun signs
Let us assume you are a Piscean sun. This is supposed to make you sensitive and creative. But let's also say your sun is in
trine aspect to Mars, which will make you energetic and physical, perhaps even warlike. Let's say that both the sun and Mars
are also in trine aspect to Pluto, which makes you competitive and perhaps dominant. So what started out as a somewhat
lethargic Piscean has now been transformed into a competitive person, someone who may be good at sports. This illustrates
why many people feel the sun-sign description that's supposedly about them is missing the mark.
So that gives us an idea what can happen in the normal, rotational dimension that western astrology works in, the geocentric
longitudes. A planet that's in a sector of the chart, be it a house or a sign, is transformed by the energy of any other planets
that it's in 30-degree aspect to.
Dimensions
If we think of the rotational dimension that we see in astrological charts as
a "plate", then we can turn this plate to look at it sideways. From this
vantage point, the planets move in a curve, north or south of the ecliptic.
Aspects are formed in this dimension also, the declinations. The possible
aspects are the parallel and the contra-parallel.
However, Magi Astrology doesn't work in only two dimensions, but six of
them: geo longitudes and declinations; helio longitudes and latitudes; both
geo and helio Zodiac 7 (seventh harmony) aspects. For the rotational
aspects we use a three-degree orb, with one four-degree leg allowed in a
multi-planet structure. In addition, we also use certain 30-degree midpoints
that aspects back to the planets we work with - these midpoint have found
to be significantly important.
Each planet can be aspected by many other planets and midpoints in each
dimension, and this adds up to lots of celestial energy that washes away the
original "house" color from the planet. It's not that looking at houses is
necessarily incorrect, but that there are far stronger energies that supersedes any house influence.
The importance of planetary symbolisms
With all this importance placed on how the planets interact with one another, in the various dimensions, it's going to be most
important to use the correct planetary symbolism.
Magi Astrology planetary symbolism is derived from research, and lots of it. More than the "house conflict," it's the
differences in planetary symbolism that guarantees you cannot mix Magi Astrology and mainstream astrology in the same
kitchen without causing an explosion.
In other words, if you find mainstream astrology has worked out well for you, then there would be little benefit in exploring
what Magi Astrology can do for you. Conversely, if you have found that mainstream astrology is not satisfactory, then you
may well find that Magi Astrology can be of benefit.
Magi Astrology is a complex system
Be warned, Magi Astrology is complex. Because we use the six dimensions, a specific set of planetary symbolisms and a
complex interpretation framework, it’s impossible for a Magi Astrologer to sit down, bring up a chart and say “what have we
got here, then…” and start making sense.
Any type of reading requires several hours worth of inspection and preparation. Magi Astrologers have to analyze these six
dimensions, look for significant alignments, then synthesize it all before they are ready to speak with you.
It’s an exciting journey of exploration and complexity that gives us an in-depth feel for who the person is or what the event
represents. It’s best compared to walking around a beautiful statue, inspecting it from several different directions and finding
expressions of beauty.
Magi Astrology symbolisms are continually evolving through research. This leads to more detailed specifications and also co-
rulerships of certain energies as more planetary bodies are incorporated.
Definition of Success
The definition of success will vary for different people, but in an increasingly materialistic and disconnected society it would
be easy to define it as lots of money, big house and popularity on social media. This could well be a trap. Happiness is not
“having what we want” but “wanting what we have.” Permanent dissatisfaction leads to more striving, which leads to more
stress and invites chronic disease. It’s important to have an authentic definition of success for oneself, on that’s not focused
on narcissistic needs, but real needs. Family, spirituality, contemplation, peace and quiet, health and exercise are all factors
that would come in here.

commercialisation and is often selfish.
Pallas

Sedna
Sedna is a difficult planet that requires absolute integrity from the person or object of the chart, lest it degenerates into
corruption, unjust gains and immorality.
Sappho
Sappho is another difficult planet that connects into boundary issues, including lack of effective boundaries, which can
result in neurotic behaviour and obsession.
Midpoints
A variety of midpoints are also used in Magi Astrology.
These combine the influence of two planets into a separate entity, which can speak just as loudly as a real planet. Not all
midpoint combinations are meaningful, but the Saturn/Chiron and the Saturn/Jupiter midpoints are both difficult.
The Jupiter/Chiron midpoint is a strongly positive midpoint. Magi Astrology uses 30-degree midpoints.
Having the right symbolisms for the planets used in astrology is just as important as having the correct cylinders in your
car engine. Won't work without it.
The symbolisms used in Magi Astrology have been collected over hundreds of years and they are often different from
those used in mainstream astrology.
In addition, the Magi Society groups some planets into categories.
Sexual Planets
Venus, Mars, Pluto and Juno

Venus, Neptune and Chiron
Financial Planets
